I don’t get why that upper lip duckface thing that Soom Dia/Sard and the newest boys from Switch have is so popular. I know it’s supposed to be sexy, but to me it makes the doll look like they have orthodontic issues.
Ihave a recast, that I bought secondhand, it was only to see the quality of it and I would never ever sell her again… Because it’s a recast… I made her a character since I don’t want her to go to waste, but I am really afraid of telling people of her, I will not lie about her being a recast! I don’t want people to judge me for owning her when I just wanted to form my own opinion on the topic of recast quality…
Am I the only one that is NOT okay with knocking up my male dolls? When it’s your doll, your story, do as you like. But please don’t tell me I should have a male pregnancy or that I’m closed-minded or sexist for being terribly disturbed at the thought of my own male dolls being pregnant.
I threw change into piggy banks for FIVE YEARS to get one of my dolls, even picking up pennies on the sidewalk. Its possible if you’re determined enough!
I get annoyed when people get into the BJD hobby knowing it’s going to be expensive, and all they do is whine all the time they are dirt broke, or they have no money to buy things for their doll to make them look pretty. I am not saying people people have to be super rich to be in this hobby. I am saying people should stop whining their broke every time they post.
I feel that way about realpuki. Glad I’m not the only one that’s into BJDs that found one that creeps them out!
I just bought my first BJD with tips I’d saved up for 8 months. I’ve now made her my own and she’s become the only face I can talk to about things no one would care about. But the hate I get for having her makes me want to cry.

OP, RTFM or in DoA’s case, Rules! Too little too late, OP.
As a new member of this hobby, I’m really deeply disappointed in the website that is currently foremost in representing the hobby. Reading their recently-revised list of “allowed dolls” actually made me angry. While I fully understand and appreciate them taking stand against things like recasts from taobao, they have taken their restrictions WAY too far: the current list of banned dolls includes a section called “banned for aesthetic reasons”, which translates to “dolls which meet all the technical criteria of being Asian ball-jointed dolls, but which the moderators just don’t like the look of”. Basically, if your doll is on that list, they’re telling you in no uncertain terms that they think your doll is too ugly for their forums. Making things even worse is the fact that many of these aesthetically banned dolls are the ones that are pear-shaped, or overweight looking. Ugh. So they’re not just judging your doll, they are making implicit judgements about what characteristics of real people they consider aesthetically acceptable.
Other ludicrous additions to the banned doll lists include dolls like Iplehouse’s cyborg Bianca, who is banned only because she doesn’t have removable eyes. Seriously? That’s not a reasonable addition, it’s the work of someone who likes rules more than they like dolls.
I have no respect for recast buyers. It’s not about the money, it’s the lack of respect for the original sculptor. If you can’t show the sculptor/company enough courtesy to get an authentic product, you should be without.
